When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left and could say, I used everything you gave me. –Erma Bombeck
What a great thought. Wouldn’t it be great if we could actually do so much in our life that when we are done on this earth, we have used up all the gifts that God has given us? Wouldn’t you love to arrive in Heaven so tired because you have completely exhausted all your resources? Wouldn’t God love it if we fully appreciated what he gave us, and used it to its fullest?
What gifts do you have that you aren’t fully using?
I have always enjoyed writing. I have always spent time composing what I thought I should write. I would construct it in my mind but not share it. I have just never had the courage to share my writing with other people, until now. And now here I am, using what I hope is a talent God gave me, to share my thoughts about Him. I have decided that it was time for me to try out this gift. And what better way than to glorify him.
I am enjoying life. I am doing my best to fully appreciate everything around me. I am trying to fully exhaust everything God has given me. Another way to say it is on a plaque that my sister gave me that says:
“Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, wine in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming ‘WOO HOO what a ride!'”
I hope you have a wonderful weekend. I hope you enjoy the ride.
Sometimes we forget that it was you that gave all of this to us. We forget to thank you for all you surround us with, all this that is really here for us to enjoy and appreciate. We forget to sit back and enjoy the ride. Thank you for all have done and continue to do for us. Thank you for the beauty of the world we live in.
Thank you for sending us your Son, who died so that we might live.
In His name,
